Do You Have Retirement Fears?

According to a new survey, Americans are afraid of out-living their money during retirement. Additionally, they fear they won't be able to have the funds to live the same quality of life they enjoy now and have their needs covered.

The top 3 retirement fears, according to data released by the IALC are as follows:
  • Outliving income (25%) 
  • Maintaining current lifestyle (23%) 
  • Healthcare expenses (19%) 
The survey also revealed that Americans are not taking any steps to mitigate these fears and plan for a better future. In addition, the survey also found that:
  • 1in 4 Americans have absolutely nothing saved for retirement (24%) 
  • 1 in 4 Baby Boomers have less than $5,000 saved for retirement (25%) 
  • Nearly 1 in 5 Americans don't know how much they've saved for retirement (17%) 
  • Nearly half (45%) of Americans are interested in retirement products, like FIAs 
  • More than half of millennials (54%) have less than $5,000 saved for retirement, and 
  • 37% of millennials have absolutely nothing saved for retirement.
